OUR CERTIFICATES

Gimoka Group, BRC and IFS certified, is attentive to the issues of quality and agri-food safety of its products and production processes.

Gimoka Group, with its BIO-certified coffee, supports agriculture through natural substances and processes for limited environmental impact, while, with its FAIRTRADE and RAINFOREST-certified coffee, it guarantees social, economic and environmental rights for ethical and sustainable agronomic practices.

KOSHER and FDA certificates respectively guarantee products that comply with Jewish and Orthodox law and marketing requirements in the U.S. market.

BRC CERTIFIED COFFEE

The BRC (British Retail Consortium) is a global standard specifically dealing with the safety of food. The purpose of the standard is to ensure that suppliers and retailers in large-scale retail can ensure the quality and safety of the food they provide to their consumers.

IFS CERTIFIED COFFEE

IFS Food is certification recognised by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) that relates to food safety and the quality of all production, traceability and product processes.

BIO CERTIFIED COFFEE

BIO certification demonstrates the achievement of certain standards, as set by the European Union, throughout the entire production chain. Organic farming is an agricultural approach aimed at producing food with natural substances and processes that tends to have a limited environmental impact, as it encourages the responsible use of energy and natural resources, conserving biodiversity, improving soil fertility and maintaining high water quality standards.

FAIR TRADE CERTIFIED COFFEE

Fair trade is a certification system that aims to ensure compliance with a set of standards in the production and supply of a product or ingredient. For farmers and workers, Fair trade is all about worker rights, safer working conditions and fairer pay. For purchasers, this means high quality and ethically produced products.

RAINFOREST CERTIFIED COFFEE

Rainforest Alliance is a certification system that promotes product or ingredient standards according to processes that ensure social, economic and environmental sustainability. For workers, this means an approach that curtails child exploitation, gender inequality and insecure working conditions. For the ecosystem, this translates into keeping rural communities independent and ensuring sustainable agronomic practices.

KOSHER/KOSHER OU CERTIFIED COFFEE

Kosher certification demonstrates that products comply with methods of preparation according to Jewish law, while Kosher OU acknowledges products that comply with Orthodox Jewish law. Both certifications are also valid for Passover.

FDA CERTIFIED COFFEE

FDA certification demonstrates compliance with specific requirements for actors in the distribution chain (manufacturers, importers) to enable them to export and market food products in the United States.

OUR APPROACH TO SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability: action areas

The Gimoka Group approach to sustainability is pursued along two lines:

Management of environmental issues at corporate level focusing on optimising the efficiency of production processes with a view to reducing waste and minimising environmental impact, such as roasting plants.

Design for Recycling, i.e. optimising the recyclability of primary and secondary packaging, creating compostable packaging solutions from renewable sources and minimising the logistical impact of packaging
